Lee Montz, a principal with GL2M Engineering, was formerly an ice rink contractor for his own firm, Rink Pro. This project was completed by Rink Pro, and is included here because ice rink design is now part of his experience. Lee Montz personally designed, built, and commissioned the ice rink refrigeration system. The plant included two water cooled Trane screw chillers delivering 10°F to the floor. It also had an underfloor heating system that utilized waste heat from the chiller plant’s condenser system. Also provided full MEP engineering for the building, including ice dehumidification and radiant heating system for stands.
